Homeschool Hurricanes @ Severna Park Racquetball & Fitness Club

This program is designed to meet the needs of swimmers wanting professionally coached practices dedicated to improving stroke mechanics and focus in the water. Swimmers will practice mindful movement and develop an understanding of balanced, efficient, and fast swimming.  Mastering the basics and building upon them creates successful swimmers for life!

(6) week sessions will include a supplemental video component to demonstrate and reinforce the skill progressions in practice. These weekly focal points will be distributed via electronic distribution and utilized as curriculum for skill development. Mastering the basics and building upon them creates successful swimmers for lifetime with the sport!

Beginner.  Tuesdays & Thursdays: 12 – 12: 45

This level is suitable for kids who may or may not know all (4) strokes, but can swim independently.  Kids are comfortable in the water and want to  build their skills and confidence!

Session # 1: Sept. 12th – Oct. 20th
Session #2: October 24th – Dec. 4th
Session #3: Jan. 9th – Feb. 15th
(6) Week Session Fee: $110 non-members/$90 members

Level 1- Beginner
Advanced. Tuesdays & Thursdays: 12:45 – 1:45
This level is best for kids competent in all (4) strokes and able to apply focus within an organized practice and learning environment.

Freestyle for Triathletes
These 90 minute clinics offer both new and experienced swimmers a deeper understanding of how to move through the water with ease, fluidity, and SPEED. We abandon the idea that we must work ‘harder’ to improve, and instead adopt a ‘practice smarter’ mentality. You will learn how to swim with your whole body versus just arms and legs. Coaches guide you through a methodical sequence of ‘mini-skills’ and allow time to practice applying the focal points to your ‘whole stroke’.

Private Coaching
Crossing Currents Aquatics’ personalized swim instruction is tailored to your learning style, rate of skill progression, and your goals!

Open Water Training
Sunday Open Water Swims are designed as practices to meet the needs of varied skilled athletes.  Participants may elect to do a long course or short course/specific skill development track each Sunday.  This is a beginner friendly outlet designed to help you achieve whatever your 2017/18 swim goals are! Swims will vary from ‘point-to-point’ courses and ‘triangular buoy’ courses.

Just Keep Swimming
This is a (10) session practice group meeting once a week. There will be Fall, Winter & Spring Sessions offered. Sessions are designed for swimmers to continue fine-tuning their skills and developing mindfulness in the water.  It is our coaching philosophy that foundation skills are essential to continual improvement in the water. This group keeps current and aspiring summer swim team kids swimming ‘year round’ in an accessible and meaningful manner.

Level One:  Does not yet swim across the pool independently, but loves the water and is eager to learn! Participants need to be able & willing to put face in the water.  Age 5 +

Level Two : Participants can complete a length of the pool both freestyle & backstroke and are developing ‘legal’ readiness in the breaststroke & butterfly.  Age 8 +

Level Three & Beyond: Athlete is ‘legal’ in all (4) strokes and is refining technique while building speed & endurance. Teens welcome & encouraged!  Age 10 +

Mid-Morning Masters
Designed for masters, fitness swimmers and triathletes who have a flexible work schedule, this (15) week session will meet twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:30 -10:45am at the Arundel Olympic Swim Center.  Improve your form, fitness and feel for the water under the guidance of coaches experienced in triathlon, competitive and open water swimming.  All levels welcome. (Participants should be able swim continuously for 8 lengths of the pool)
